Privacy policy

We collect as little as possible. Reading an article requires no account and no personal information.

Newsletter

If you subscribe, we store your email address for the sole purpose of sending the weekly edition. Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes the address.

Install tracking links

Some app store buttons on this site are tracking links provided by mobile attribution services (such as Singular and AppsFlyer). When you tap one, the link briefly passes through the provider's servers before opening the app store. During that pass-through, the provider may record your IP address, device type and operating-system version, a device identifier, the page you tapped from, and the time of the tap. This is used for one purpose: to attribute installs to our recommendation so the developer knows the install came from this article.

We do not receive your device identifiers, your IP address or any profile the attribution provider builds. The data is used for install attribution and aggregate campaign reporting — we do not use it to build advertising profiles or to retarget you. Install attribution on iOS additionally relies on Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework: if you decline tracking, the link still works but the install may not be attributed. You can also limit ad tracking generally via your device settings (iOS "Ask Apps Not to Track" / Android "Opt out of Ads Personalization").

Analytics

We use aggregate, privacy-respecting page analytics to understand which guides are useful. We do not build advertising profiles or sell reader data.

Outbound links

App store links may carry affiliate parameters. Once you leave this site, the destination platform's own privacy policy applies.
